Each of our 300 volunteers contributes in his or her unique way. You can:
- Visit patients at home
- Give caregivers a break or run errands
- Visit patients at the Hospice Atlanta Center
- Give tours or help out in the office
- Play the piano in the comfortable library
- Give presentations as a member of our community Speakers’ Bureau
- Help out as a counselor at the Camp STARS bereavement camps
- Provide pastoral care, or help with memorial services
- Assist at our fundraising events, such as the Hospice Atlanta Gala and the Big-To-Do for families.
These are just a few of the important roles you can fulfill as a volunteer. Our Coordinators will carefully match your interests with the needs of our patients.
All volunteers are screened before they enter our program, and are required to have a TB test once a year. (This doesn’t apply to special event or fundraising volunteers.)
If you have a special talent you think could make a difference in our patients' lives, or for more information about volunteering, contact our Manager of Volunteer Services, Barbara Moore, 404-869-3000 or Volunteer Coordinator Ann Serrie, 404-848-7955.
Volunteer training and orientation is offered four times a year. Most classes are held at 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319. Please call for more information or to sign up for our next session, 404-869-3000.
Download the Volunteer Application Form and fax to 404-869-3099.
We look forward to meeting you!
