Skilled, Professional Healthcare in Your Own Home
Home healthcare is the perfect choice if you have been discharged from the hospital but still need healthcare professionals to help you to get back to your normal daily activities. It can be for older adults or people with disabilities who want to remain independent in their homes, as well as people of any age who are chronically or terminally-ill.
Today's home care encompasses a broad range of medical services from simple antibiotic injections to complex treatments that years ago were only performed in a hospital setting. Our nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists and other experienced clinicians are here to help. Visiting Nurse Health System cares for more than 16,000 patients each year in Metro Atlanta.
Home health services are available only with a physician’s order. Use the links to the left to access information on each area of our Home Health Services. Medicare and most commercial insurance provide home healthcare benefits. If you think your loved one might benefit from home healthcare services, we will be glad to help you determine if your insurance will cover some or all of your needs. Medicare also offers a 21-page booklet, “Medicare and Home Health Care.”
Affordable, Quality Care
We accept Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans. As a community nonprofit, our mission is to care for everyone regardless of age, race, diagnosis or the ability to pay. To the extent that charitable funds are available, no patient who is eligible for services will be turned away.
If you believe you, a friend or family member would benefit from home healthcare, talk to your doctor and then call the Visiting Nurse Health System’s Customer Service number at: 404-215-6000.
